India’s two mainstays Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya are struggling with lower back injuries. While Bumrah is still in consultation with the doctors about the possibility of surgery, the all-rounder from Baroda went under the knife and had a successful operation.

Pandya had posted on social media about his successful surgery. The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) had also released a statement about the same. Pandya also promised to be back soon through his posted as he thanked everyone for the wishes.

Just a few days after his operation, Pandya has returned to his feet and has started walking again. He was seen taking small steps in his hospital room. In fact, the 25-year-old all-rounder posted a series of videos of him trying to walk again. He was also seen on the wheelchair. Pandya uploaded the videos on his Instagram story. Hence, a fan posted the same on Twitter as well as Pandya tries to recover from his lower back injury.

Pandya has been struggling with back issues for the last year or so

Pandya has had a series of back problems over the last year or so. During the Asia Cup last year (September), he had to be stretched out in the game against Pakistan due to the same lower back injury. He was eventually ruled out for the next few months. After recovering from the injury and the suspension, Pandya returned in India colours in New Zealand.

However, he missed the two T20Is and five ODIs against Australia at home ahead of the IPL and World Cup as he had lower back stiffness. He played the entire season of the IPL and all games in the World Cup. The all-rounder was subsequently rested for the Caribbean tour where India played three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests. Pandya returned for the T20I series against South Africa before he wasn’t picked for the Tests.

According to reports, he was examined after the last T20I in Bengaluru as he wasn’t too comfortable. Thus, he eventually flew to the United Kingdom (UK) last week and underwent successful surgery. Hence, Pandya has been struggling with this injury for quite a while now and looks set to miss a lot of cricketing action as he will start his rehabilitation process once he completely recovers.
