Harsha Bhogle was left surprised and shocked when BCCI terminated his Indian Premier League (IPL) contract. The reason for his termination is still unknown but it is speculated that he has not been in good terms with some senior cricketers the wrong with his frank comments. Bhogle has received a lot of support from cricket followers in social media but he continues to be out of the cash-rich league.

Harsha, who is a considered as one of the finest analysts of the game, keenly follows every game. He gives out his views on Twitter regularly. Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who is normally a swift man behind the wickets had missed an easy stumping chance during the Rising Pune Supergiants’ versus Gujarat Lions at Rajkot yesterday.

This was a rare moment as MS Dhoni is not usually seen dropping any chance as a wicket keeper. In fact, he is famous to make half-chances into success. This also surprised Bhogle, who tweeted during the match.

“Rare off day for MSD behind the stumps?”

His tweets brought quick responses and one of the reply came from English sports commentator Jonathan Agnew. He tweeted, “@bhogleharsha Careful. They’ll ban you from Twitter next.”

It was not hard to guess that there was a sense of sarcasm in the tweet which pointed towards the involvement of Indian cricketers and board in his suspension who disliked his criticism.

Earlier, during the India-Bangladesh ICC World T20 tie, actor Amitabh Bachchan had criticised Indian commentators of not talking of the national side enough and Dhoni retweeted that expressing his support. Though no commentator was named, going by grapevines it was directed towards Bhogle. Bhogle through social media post clarified the role of commentators and a few days later his contract was terminated.
