Hasan Ali after winning an ICC award gets roasted by Shadab Khan on Twitter

The ICC awards for the calendar year 2017 were announced recently. There were not many surprises, as a lot of cricket was played last year but only a few consistent players emerged. However, Pakistan surprised everyone with their fantastic performances in 2017. There were a lot of milestones that the Men in Green achieved in 2017.

There were a lot of players who made a name for themselves at the highest stage possible as well. One of them was Hasan Ali. He was fantastic for the Pak team in their victorious Champions Trophy campaign. Those series of performances have earned the bowling all-rounder his first ICC award. Ali was awarded the honor of ICC’s Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year.

Hasan Ali’s statistics justify why he got the award. At the age of 23, Ali took the responsibility of the team and won them the Champions Trophy. A simple bowling arm with some great variations did the trick for the young man. In One Day Internationals, he took 45 wickets in 18 games he played. He averages about 17 balls per wicket and has three five-for’s to his name.

His economy rate is also very low for a bowler who bowls in the powerplay. Ali was over the moon after receiving the award but his teammates were happier than the man himself. There were a lot of tweets coming in at him but one specifically stood out.

Shadab Khan with a special message for Ali

Shadab Khan congratulated Hasan Ali for the award in a very humorous way. He wrote a long caption on a hilarious photo. The caption is in Hindi and it congratulates Hasan Ali at first then goes on to say that there is more to come from him. That said, Shadab continues and says his teammate could have also got an award of Model of the Year.
