Hasan Ali bowls out five batsmen in a BPL game

Hasan Ali has emerged as the new bowling sensation for Pakistan. The 23-year-old right-arm pacer has continued his splendid bowling in the T20 leagues as well. Ranked as the No.1 ODI bowler in the ICC rankings, he continues to dwell with fantastic performances.

The youngster who’s currently playing for Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League produced sensational match figures of 5/20. What’s noteworthy is the fact that all of his five dismissals were bowled. Hasan became only the second bowler in T20 history to achieve this record.

Bangladesh speedster Rubel Hossain was the previous bowler to have accomplished a similar feat. Interestingly, even the earlier instance of a bowler uprooting the bails five times happened in the Bangladesh Premier League in 2010.

Ali accounted for the wickets of the dangerous Evin Lewis and Mehedi Maruf in his very first over. He was later introduced in the 16th over where he got the better of Mosaddek Hossain. He then dusted off the tail with a couple of wickets in his last over as the Dhaka Dynamites were outdone with just 128 runs on the board.

On the other hand, Comilla Victorians weren’t let off for an easy win. Mohammad Amir and Sunil Narine bowled splendidly well. However, Shoaib Malik displayed some extraordinary grit and character as his fifty propelled Victorians to a stupendous 4 wickets victory over the Dhaka Dynamites.

Hasan Ali was deservingly awarded the Man of the Match for his fabulous bowing. Bangladeshi commentator remarked him as a ‘superstar’ on air for his terrific bowling. It’s always an amazing sight to watch a fast bowler steam in and beat the batsman and shatter his timber. To do that five times in a T20 game is well beyond stunning.
