Virat Kohli & Co. scripted a stunning victory against England in the fourth Test at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium by an innings and 25 runs and managed to win the highly-anticipated four-match Test series by 3-1. With this win, Team India also sealed a spot for themselves in the final of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand, scheduled in England from June 18 to June 22, 2021.

Though India has done exceedingly well under head coach Ravi Shastri across all the three formats of the game, the former cricketer has been a constant target of trollers and memers on social media with people time and again coming up with new content to make fun of the veteran. One of the main reasons behind Shastri being a meme-material for the fans has been his love for alcohol.

However, the head coach doesn’t get affected by the hate or his memes on social media. Rather he takes all of this sportingly and believes that there is nothing wrong with this banter as people are able to have fun and share a laugh. The former cricketer also believes that the fans are so attached to the game of cricket that you are bound to get some kicks and slaps when the team fails to produce results.

“It’s banter all the way. They do it to have fun. It’s at my expense, but it’s okay. Have a drink on my name. When you post that kind of thing, so many people have a laugh. Enjoy, it doesn’t affect me. In cricket, if you are playing well and succeeding, people will be happy with you, and when you are not winning, you have to face some kicks and slaps,”  Ravi Shastri said during a press conference a day after India wrapped up a 3-1 series win against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

After the conclusion of the Test series, India will now lock horns against England in the five-match T20I series starting from March 12 at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium followed by three One Day Internationals against the same opponents.
