Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh joined the married men club yesterday after he finally tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Hazel Keech. The pair exchanged wedding vows at the spiritual dera of Baba Ram Singh Ganduan Wale in village Duffera on Sirhind-Chandigarh Road on Wednesday.
The marriage took place in the presence of his friends and family. Hazel was looking stunning in her pink lehenga, while Yuvraj wore a sherwani of the same colour. After visiting Gurudwara, the couple was blessed by Sant Baba Ram Singh Ji.
During the wedding ritual, Hazel was often referred by a new name of Gurbasant Kaur by Saint Balvinder Singh, who was reading the kirtan. Later it came to know that Sant Baba Ram Singh Ji suggested to change the name of Hazel to Gurbasant. Well, that seriously sounds a little bizarre. Yuvraj’s father Yograj Singh did not attend the wedding ceremony because of the same reason as he does not like talking to or getting involved with any Saint. During this, the couple also went out for a photoshoot for media.
A long party is also expected to take place after the wedding. A friend of the bride said, “We signed up for a week-long party that has just begun. Expect surprises and a big show in Goa and Delhi.” As reported by Mid-Day, the outfit for further occasions were also revealed by one of the friends. “Hazel has already chosen a red and gold Benarasi for the Hindu do. Yuvi’s final outfit is yet to be zeroed on.”
