Jos Buttler lauds Rohit Sharma’s performance in 2019 World Cup

In a live Instagram session with Rajasthan Royals, Jos Buttler said that Rohit Sharma is a brilliant opener. He looks quite effortless while batting on the field. The England wicketkeeper also added that he likes the way in which 32-year-old opener bats for Team India.

“Rohit Sharma I think is an awesome player. Effortless. Quite a lot of Indian players have that awesome style. He has been fantastic for a long time and I just like the way he bats and the effortless nature in which he takes people down,” Jos Buttler said in the live Instagram session with Rajasthan Royals.

As per him, the interesting thing about Rohit Sharma is that if he gets settled, then he scores big runs against the opponents and that creates a lot of impact on the result of the match. A few years ago, the bowlers used to come out with a strategy to bowl short balls against Indian batsmen. But, the Indian Hitman has changed the dynamics, who effortlessly smacks six on those deliveries.

“One of the things I have seen with Rohit is that if he gets in, he scores big runs and really affects the game. He must have scored 4-5 hundred in the World Cup last year. I think a few years ago people used to attack Indian players with the short ball but Rohit smashes them. Then you go fuller and he smashes them right down the ground,” added Buttler.
