After a four-wicket loss to the Delhi Capitals in their opening match of IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians would be looking to regroup and come out all guns blazing as they eye their first two points this season. Lately, one of the die-hard super fans of the franchise as well as skipper of Rohit Sharma came forward to show his love and respect for the Hitman.

The name of the superfan is Dipak Patel and he came all the way from Nagpur to support Rohit. It is to be noted that the dynamic opener was born in the Bansod area of Nagpur. At the same time, the fan has also painted his face and entire body blue which happens to be MI’s jersey color. Furthermore, Dipak also went on to add how much he adores Rohit Sharma.

Dipak Patel has a special message for Rohit Sharma

He termed the MI captain as his God and also revealed the Nagpur connection that they share. Interestingly, it has been six years since Deepak has been painting his body in blue.

“Rohit sir is my inspiration, God everything. He is actually my favourite because I actually have no words to describe what I feel for him! Firstly, there is the Nagpur connection and then, he is just on another level”, said Dipak while speaking in a video posted by the Mumbai Indians on their official Twitter handle.

“It’s been around six years that I have been using body paint. I started following Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sir in 2017. The first time I saw Rohit sir play live was in Nagpur. After that, I started using body paint to support him. And now, finally, after a gap of two years, now as the pandemic has eased off, to go to a stadium and support Mumbai Indians is a huge deal”, he added.

Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in IPL history, having led the Mumbai Indians to a record five titles in the 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 editions, respectively. He and MI would be eyeing a sixth crown this time around.

The Mumbai Indians will next be seen in action against the Rajasthan Royals at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on April 2.
