Heavy salaries of PCB officials released, figures presented in front of the National Assembly's standing committee

The list of the heavy salaries of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials is recently been released. The figures of the same were presented in front of the National Assembly’s standing committee on Wednesday, January 5. As per the list, it is revealed that the foreign physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon is the highest-paid PCB official who earns just over Rs. 2 million on a monthly basis. It is to be noted that all the figures mentioned here are in Pakistan Rupees.

Rs. 1.3 million and Rs. 1 million are earned by the PCB Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq and Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim respectively. Director Media and Communications Sami Burney, and Director of High-Performance Nadeem Khan are both receiving Rs. 1.3 million. While on the other hand, Director of International Cricket Operations Zakir Khan earns 0.85 million per month.

The hefty salaries of the PCB officials

The Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza, Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Najeebullah Soomro all earn a tad bit over Rs. 1.2 million. Further, moving down the hierarchy, the Director Human Resources Serena Agha, and Director Security and Anti Corruption Asif Mehmood both are paid Rs. 0.85 million.

GM Logistics and GM Finance and Accounts both receive Rs. 0.6 million. The positions are held by Asad Mustafa and Ateeque Rasheed respectively. Muhammad Abdul Sabur (Souther Punjab), Anwar Saleem Kasi (Balochistan), Babar Khan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Najeeb Sadiq (Northern), and Abdullah Khurram Niazi (Central Punjab) who are the CEOs of Provisional Cricket Association teams receive a paycheck of Rs. 0.5 million.

While on the other hand, it is to be noted that the PCB officials are also eligible for extra perks which include car, fuel, mobile balance, and quite a few more things. PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja has been provided with 2021 Honda BRV, CEO has been given 2019 Honda Civic, and Saqlain Mushtaq has been allocated 2014 Honda City.

Previously the extravagant allowances of the PCB officials had come under the government’s radar. The National Assembly’s Standing committee had thus asked for the necessary accounts of the financial transactions, official tours, and general expenditures of the PCB. The salaries of some PCB officials were placed under major criticism and the government thus intervened in the matter.
