Ramiz Raja, the former Pakistan cricketer turned commentator, has requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to put all the players, who are found guilty in cricket related corruption cases, behind the bars. This request was made by the former player after Umar Akmal was handed a three-year ban from all forms of the game for not reporting corrupt approaches.

Earlier, this month, the 57-year-old took a dig on PCB for bringing back the tainted cricketers into the national side. As per him, including those players in the side has damaged the cricket of the country to an extent. Actually, fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who was involved in an infamous 2010 spot-fixing scandal and had to serve a five-year ban, was picked by the selectors once again for the national side after he completed his sentence.

Ramiz Raja again hits out at tainted cricketers

Now, there were talks to bring back Sharjeel Khan, who had played a role in PSL fixing scandal back in 2016. Moreover, he recently played in the fifth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Karachi Kings. And, Ramiz Raja was not impressed with the approach of the cricket board towards the banned players.

On Monday, Umar Akmal was handed with a ban of three years by PCB for breaching the code of conduct regarding the corrupt approaches in the past. This gave another opportunity to Raja to raise his voice against all the players found guilty till date. He took to his official Twitter handle and shared a long post. He said that Umar Akmal finally made to the list of idiots.

The commentator looked pretty upset and felt that the cricketer wasted his talent. In the end, he requested the board to pass a law that all the players will be sent behind the bars if found guilty in the future. He feels that this will create a fear in players mind and they will think twice before committing such an activity.

His post read, “So Umar Akmal officially makes it to the list of idiots! Banned for 3 years. What a waste of talent! It’s high time that Pakistan moved towards passing a legislative law against match-fixing. Behind bars is where such jack asses belong! Otherwise brave for more!!.”
