5. 309/3 by Australia Vs India at Brisbane (2016)

It was the occasion of the 2nd ODI of the bilateral series between India and Australia at the Gabba, Brisbane. The match kicked off India in style as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli put up gutsy partnership to give India a good start. Kohli was run out for 59 but Rohit continued his good form and struck his 2nd consecutive ton. He was unlucky to be dismissed on 124 when a straight drive from Rahane tickled off from Faulkner’s hand to hit the stumps. Rahane scored a vital knock of 89 off 80 balls to take India to 308/8 in 50 overs. The Aussie run chase struggled a bit but the openers put on 145 for the first wicket. Finch and Shaun Marsh made 71 each before being dismissed. Yet again it was the partnership between Bailey and Steve Smith that almost took Australia over the line. Smith was cleaned up by Umesh Yadav for 46. Maxwell joined Bailey to take the home side to a victory with an over to spare. Bailey remained unbeaten on 76 that came off 58 balls.
