Hobart Hurricanes tie D'Arcy Short down to a contract until 2021

The 27-year old will be a part of the Hurricans for the next three years.

The T20 extravaganza in the Southern Hemisphere Australia culminated after a superlative performance from Adelaide Strikers. The franchise-based T20 tournament helped populous to witness some nail-biting encounters and eventually went on to impress everyone around the world. The Hobart Hurricanes had a magnificent stint in the seventh edition of Big Bash League (BBL) leading themselves to final.

Their star performer D’Arcy Short has been nothing short of phenomenal being consistent throughout the 11 matches for Hobart Hurricanes while opening the innings. He first got an opportunity in the absence of their star-opener Tim Paine, but he was able to capitalize and seize the all-important spot. His authoritative batting style helped him to amass 572 runs off 11 matches that he played. He scored at an astonishing average of 57.20 having four half-centuries and a whopping century to his name.

Short was the highest run-getter of the BBL and has also earned Australia cap and set to play in the shortest format against England and New Zealand. Further, his dream week was light up more after he agreed to extend his contract for further two years, ensuring that he will be featuring in the purple jersey till 2021.
