Sachin Tendulkar is the most complete batter ever: Virat Kohli

Earlier, when Virat Kohli was asked as to whether he was better than Sachin Tendulkar, the 33-year-old had stated that it was because of Tendulkar that he started playing cricket. Adding that Tendulkar is the most complete batter the game has seen, Kohli said that it is not fair to compare Tendulkar with the current crop of cricketers.

“You can only compare those who are worthy of the comparison. You are comparing me to someone because of whom I started playing cricket in the first place. I stand no chance in terms of skill level. He’s the most complete batsman ever. Then how can you even compare? I’ve always said it’s not fair no him. Because of what he’s given us, he doesn’t deserve to be compared to us. This generation, no chance,” Kohli had said on the show Breakfast with Champions.

Sachin Tendulkar is the most prolific run-scorer in Test and ODI cricket. While the legendary cricketer plundered 15921 runs in Test match cricket, Tendulkar amassed 18426 runs in the ODI format of the game. The 48-year-old is also the only batter to score 100 centuries in international cricket. Tendulkar played his last international match for the Indian side in the year 2013.
