The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin in a couple of day’s time and the buzz surrounding the mega event is already into its peak. The opening ceremony will take place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai after which the opening game between the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings will be played at the same venue.

As per reports in The Statesman, Hrithik Roshan, the Bollywood actor, is set to grace his presence in the 45-minute extravaganza which will be staged prior to the game. “Yes I can officially confirm that I will be performing for the opening ceremony of IPL. I have already started rehearsing for it. It will be fun to perform in front of a live audience once again” Hrithik mentioned.

Meanwhile, the schedule of his performance has also been decided. The songs in which he will perform has popular and peppy numbers like Dhoom Macha Le (Dhoom 2), Ek Pal Ka Jeena (Kaho Na Pyaar Hain), Baware Baware (Luck by Chance) and Senorita (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara). He has already started his full-fledged rehearsals yesterday onwards.

Ranveer Singh, the Padmavat-star was about to perform earlier. However, he suffered an injury on his shoulders owing to which he has been ruled out of the ceremony. He has also been advised to not put a strain on the shoulders for the next one month. Hrithik Roshan has previously performed in opening ceremonies and several award functions and has garnered a fair amount of popularity.

Meanwhile, the eleventh season of the tournament is speculated to be an exciting one. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to make a comeback after serving their suspension for two years. However, the other teams are no pushovers and have equal opportunities to lift the championship as well.
