Fans were in for a disappointing time when the final T20I match between India and Australia got abandoned in Hyderabad on October 13 (Friday). Owing to heavy downpours prior to the match, the ground was left riddled with wet patches, which eventually led to the series-decider being called off, citing wet outfield as the reason. However, in a recent press release, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has announced dates for refunding money for the tickets to the spectators.

The 3-match T20I series between India and Australia had been poised delicately at 1-1. The 3rd and final contest of the series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad was all set to be a nail-biter and hence, the match being abandoned without a single delivery bowled lefts fans at the stadium dejected beyond measure, especially because they had refused to budge from the ground in spite of the long delay in match proceedings. The trophy was eventually shared between the two teams.

HCA decides to refund ticket money

In the Press Release issued by the HCA, it was stated that the Council had unanimously decided on refunding the price of the tickets to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium purchased by spectators. The decision was taken in the Apex Council Meeting which was held on 16th October 2017. Further, the notice elucidated on the dates and methods for the refund process.

Since the tickets were made available in slabs of Rs. 800, Rs. 1000, Rs. 1500 and Rs. 5000, the HCA declared separate dates for each denomination of ticket value. While people who possess tickets worth Rs. 800 will obtain their refunds on October 23 and 24, the ones who bought tickets worth Rs.1000 will have to collect their money on October 25 and 26. Similarly, Rs.1500-ticket holders will be receiving refunds on October 27 and 28, followed by the people who purchased tickets costing Rs.5000 on October 30 and 31.

Further, all ticket holders will be required to produce their tickets as well as their bank account details in order to “facilitate smooth and easy refund of money,” stated the release. The notice concluded by observing that the refund procedure for tickets relating to the Hospitality & Corporate Boxes would be announced in imminent future.
