'I am going to Pakistan tomorrow' - Chris Gayle's tweet confuses IPL and Pakistan cricket fans

Chris Gayle is a cricketer who wears his heart on his sleeve and does not shy away from sharing his views and opinions on issues. And, a tweet put out by the ‘Universe Boss’ on 19th September 2021 has caught the attention of the cricketing world.

Gayle tweeted that he is leaving for Pakistan, and also asked who wants to accompany him as well. Pakistan is currently in the news as the series between Pakistan and New Zealand was called off due to security issues.

And, a tweet from Gayle at this juncture has left the fans confused. “I’m going to Pakistan tomorrow, who coming with me?,” tweeted Gayle.

And, this tweet from Gayle has elicited several reactions from the fans. While one fan asked the 42-year-old whether he will be playing in the second leg of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), another put a meme that showed Gayle going to Pakistan and also playing in the IPL at the same time.

While another fan wondered whether Gayle will feature in the IPL this year, yet another fan asked Gayle not to play some weird prank on the fans as the ‘Pakistan issue’ is a highly sensitive one.

Chris Gayle is one of the greatest batsmen to have taken guard for the West Indian side. The left-handed batting colossus has played 103 Tests, 301 ODIs, and 74 T20Is for the ‘Men in Maroon’. While he has plundered 7215 runs in the whites, Gayle has amassed 10480 runs in the ODI format of the game.

In T20I cricket, the 41-year-old has scored 1854 runs at a strike rate of close to 140. Gayle is also considered as one of the greatest batsmen to have played the IPL. He is currently the 7th highest run-scorer in IPL history and has scored 4950 runs in 140 matches at an average of 40.24 and a strike rate of 149.45. He has also scored a staggering 6 centuries in IPL cricket as well.
