The Indian team has suffered an incredible ‘spree’ of injuries. And now, they have come to a position where many of their first-choice players are not available to take the field. Their front-line pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the fourth Test with an abdominal strain, their batting hero in the last game who defiantly stood up to the Australians, Hanuma Vihari has torn his hamstring, and their lead all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja dislocated his thumb and will not be available for the Brisbane Test.

Earlier, Mohammed Shami was ruled out after Pat Cummins hit him on the elbow with a bouncer in the first Test, Umesh Yadav limped away with a calf injury at Melbourne, and KL Rahul was also ruled out after suffering a sprain in his wrist. And wait, all this is after Virat Kohli returned back to India for the birth of his child after the first Test.

Now, Virender Sehwag took to Twitter and once again revealed his funny side to the world. The former opening batsman jokingly stated that he is ready to fly to the land of the kangaroos if the Indian side is unable to put up eleven players on the field. He further stated that quarantine protocols can be taken care of.

This is Virender Sehwag’s humorous tweet

Sehwag was one of the most feared batsmen in his playing days. The right hander featured in 104 Test matches for his country and is the only Indian batsman to have scored two triple centuries. The ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’ scored 8586 runs in white flannels at an average close to 50(49.34). And, what made him a nightmare for the bowlers was the fact that he scored his runs at a strike rate of 82.23 in Test cricket.

Border Gavaskar Trophy on the line

The Border-Gavaskar series will be on the line, with both the sides having won one game each, and the fourth Test at The Gabba will act as the decider. India would be buoyed by the fact that they could stand up to the Aussies and defiantly thwart their bowling attack and play out 131 overs in their second innings.

It has also been reported that Washington Sundar might make his Test debut and come into the side in place of the injured Ravindra Jadeja. Also, either limited overs hero Thangarasu Natarajan or Shardul Thakur will take Jasprit Bumrah’s place in the side. A tantalizing fourth Test awaits the fans. While India will have their spirits high after forcing a draw in the Third Test, The Gabba is the Australian fortress, with the hosts not having lost a Test match at the venue in more than three decades.
