The Indian cricket has always been referred to as the iconic land of spinners which emerged the spin heavyweights of the game like Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin and many more legendary figures are also part of the same tally. There is also a large pool of spinners in the current Indian team in all the three formats of the game. The recent tweaker who has rattled some of the best batsmen in the world is India’s mysterious left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav.

Kuldeep states his ultimate goal

Recently, India scripted a magnificent and spectacular limited-overs series win for the first time in the African nation after almost 25 years and both the Indian spinning duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal played an important and valuable role in the historical series victory.

Both the Indian spinners together scalped a record tally of 33 wickets in the six-match ODI series, out of which Kuldeep claimed 17 wickets and made things troublesome for the South African batters. Kuldeep revealed that he is ready to represent the national team in the longest format in the upcoming overseas tours. He is even all charged up to play the role of the leading spinner in the team, in case the team management and selectors assign him for that major opportunity.

“Obviously, I am ready for the foreign tours. I love pitches outside India more as they offer true bounce, wickets here are slow. I am ready to play all the three formats, that is the ultimate goal,” said Kuldeep as quoted by the Indian Express.

“Of course, I am. I think even four years ago I was ready. I am playing for my country right now, I am confident and so I think I can deliver,” the chinaman bowler added on whether he can take up the leading spinner’s role, in the case India’s premier spinner Ashwin is played an all-rounder in the Indian Test side.

The senior guys make your job easier

On various instances during the limited overs series against the Proteas, both Indian captain Virat Kohli and experienced wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni was seen giving some quality suggestions to Kuldeep and the rest of the bowlers. Yadav mentioned that both Dhoni and Kohli constantly encourages me to attack the batsmen and keeps on inducing the motivating factor to get the best out of ourselves.

“Yes, definitely. When legends like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are in your team then the job becomes, even more, easier. Mahi Bhai keeps sharing his wealth of experience with me, so it really feels good to be around him. It helps us to have a strong mindset. At the same time, Virat bhai also encourages to keep attacking the batsmen. He believes in us, always motivates us and there can be nothing bigger for a youngster than this,” mentioned Kuldeep on the importance of the senior members present in the Indian team.

Who is able to pick Kuldeep the best?

The left-arm spinner has a bagful of variations in his armory, which makes it hard for any batsman to pick the variety of deliveries and then time their shots towards perfection. “Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. But most of them are class players. Virat Kohli picks me the best,” he further added on who picks him the best in the current Indian team.
