Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is regarded as one of the best captains to have ever led the Indian cricket team. The 39-year-old is the only skipper in the entire cricket fraternity to win all the three ICC trophies including the ICC 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
England’s skipper Eoin Morgan is considered one of the best leaders of recent times. Morgan is often credited for helping England face all the hurdles and making them the world champions by winning the ICC 2019 World Cup. In a number of instances, the England skipper has been compared with MS Dhoni.
While many in the cricket fraternity have hailed Morgan for being a good leader similar to MS, former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt has some different views on the topic. Speaking in a video uploaded on his Youtube channel, Salman questioned Morgan for his tactical decisions on the cricket field.
Butt asserted that Morgan comes prepared to chase down a total of around 350 in ODIs as he doesn’t have any strategy to restrict the opposition to a below-par score. Further, the Pakistan veteran slammed former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis, saying that the latter might be a great batsman but he isn’t a good leader.

Salman didn’t seem happy with Faf’s captaincy during the 2019 World Cup and said that the veteran didn’t have any good plans to rotate the bowlers. He gave an example of MS Dhoni to define a good captain while also lavishing praises on Rohit Sharma for his captaincy in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians.
“Faf du Plessis is a great batsman, but his tactical decisions in the World Cup in England were not that good. Poor execution from bowlers can make the captain look like someone who doesn’t have great plans. MS Dhoni is a fine example of a great tactician. Rohit Sharma’s tactics in the IPL were spot on,” Butt said.
“Currently, I don’t think Eoin Morgan is a great tactical captain. He is almost prepared to chase down a total in excess of 300-350 and thus, he doesn’t seem to have great plans to restrict the opposition,” he added.
