Mohammad Hafeez, the former skipper of Pakistan is one of the richest cricketers of his nation. He has been playing cricket for more than a decade and earned a lot of respect in this sport. But, there are reports that he has been brought under the scanner for not paying the annual tax.

The 39-year-old cricketer is currently out of favour from the national team due to his poor performances on the field. He was the part of Pakistan cricket team in the 2019 World Cup. But, he couldn’t retain his spot in the team after its conclusion due to his horrific show with the ball and bat during the mega-event.

As per the media reports, the veteran cricketer possesses 170 million Pakistani rupees and it seems that he did not report to the authorities about his entire wealth. It is also said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) of Pakistan has issued a show-cause notice to Hafeez. And, according to that, he needs to give a brief detail about each and every detail related to his money and property that he holds across the globe.

On Thursday, when the all-rounder was questioned about the alleged charges, in reply to it, Hafeez said that he is not aware of any notice that he got from FBR. He doesn’t know as from where this fake news is being spread in the media.

“I am unaware of any notice from the FBR. I have no idea why such news is being spread.” the Pakistan all-rounder told as quoted by Geo.TV.

He also gave a denial in order to commit any tax evasion or asset concealment and recited that every year he files his tax return on time. “I file my tax returns every year without fail,” he added.

However, the sources have informed Geo.tv that FBR has already issued a notice against Hafeez. And, due to privy matter, they are not vocal about it. The federal body is currently auditing the veteran all-rounder’s income from the last five years.

Mohammad Hafeez has played in 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 89 T20Is in which he has scored more than 12,000 runs.
