India’s star pacer T Natarajan isn’t experiencing an ideal outing in 2021 as over the past few months, the pacer has suffered multiple injuries. Natarajan made his debut in the purest format of the game for India during the last Test of the four-match series against Australia in Australia and ended up picking three wickets.

However, the speedster was given a rest during the four-match home Test series against England in February 2021. Natarajan was expected to make a comeback in the limited-overs series against England but he gave the five-match T20I series a miss. The left-hander suffered a knee and shoulder injury and was thus undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

The 30-year-old soon recovered and participated in the three-match ODI series followed by playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the now-postponed 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, Natarajan’s knee injury aggravated during IPL and he could feature in just two games before getting ruled out of the entire league.

T Natarajan shares a fitness video

The Tamil Nadu Stalwart soon underwent knee surgery and took to his official Instagram handle to give an update regarding the same. In a post made last month, the decorated pacer revealed that his operation was a success and he is looking forward to making a comeback on the match field.

“Today, I underwent knee surgery- and am grateful for the expertise, attention, and kindness of the medical team, surgeons, doctors, nurses, and staff. I’m grateful to #bcci and to all that have wished well for me.

The road back to the 22 yards is long. But I have taken the most crucial step today. Looking forward to coming back – stronger and fitter than ever before. Thanks to all of you for your support, blessings, and good wishes” Natarajan wrote.

In another development, it is now learned that the speedster is on a road to recovery and is likely to regain his 100% fitness soon. On Sunday, May 16, Natarajan shared a video on his Instagram handle where he can be seen training hard with various equipments. The 30-year-old captioned the post as, “I wake up each day stronger than before !!”
