Pakistan cricketer Fakhar Zaman made a hilarious comment on the ongoing economic situation in his country in a recent interview. With Sri Lanka already struggling, Pakistan has now joined them as well and the country has been going through an economic and political crisis. A new government was formed in Pakistan on April 11 after Imran Khan was forced out via a vote of no confidence.

Meanwhile, Fakhar who last played in the PSL 2022 finished at the top for the most runs scored in the season with 588 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 152.72. He is expected to make the squad for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies and did not shy away from reacting to the current situation in the country. The 32-year-old referred to his double century against Zimbabwe in 2018 while making a joke to a reporter’s question.

A good thing that Ramiz ensured an increase in the monthly stipends: Fakhar Zaman

Fakhar Zaman hilariously noted that he hoped that the dollar does not break his 210 record, which is the highest individual score by a Pakistan batter in ODIs. He acknowledged the fact that the PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja has increased the monthly stipends for the cricketers and showed gratitude for the latter’s supportive words in the meeting. He added that the salary increase will certainly benefit the development of the game in the country.

“I want the dollar not to break my 210 runs record,” Fakhar responded humorously to a reporter’s question as quoted by Cricket Pakistan. “It is a good thing that Ramiz [Raja] ensured an increase in the monthly stipends. He was very supportive in the meeting. he shared. Increase in the salaries will benefit our cricket,” he added.

Pakistan is set to play a three-match ODI series against West Indies starting from the 8th of June in Rawalpindi and it will be followed by a tour to the Netherlands for a three-match ODI series in August.
