I would love to play for Mumbai Indians in future: Pranav Dhanawade

It has been an evident fact that time and again, the city of Mumbai has produced some spectacular batters for the world to witness. Starting from Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar to Rohit Sharma in the modern era, the list goes long. It seems like there is another addition to this list in form of Pranav Dhanawade who shook the world at age of 15 by playing a knock of 1009* in a school cricket match.

His life took a complete U-turn after this stunning knock and he found himself amid instant recognition. Dhanawade recalls being invited to Sachin Tendulkar’s place for dinner where the legend gifted him a signed bat. In his recent interview, the now 21-year-old talked about his favourite player and the IPL franchise he would like to be a part of in the future.

“I am Arjun Tendulkar’s friend and after the knock, I was invited to Sachin’s house. It was like a dream come true for me. He (Sachin) also gifted me a bat and wished me luck,” said Dhanawade while recalling his dinner at Tendulkar’s place in a chat with CricketCountry.

In his recent chat, he was also asked about his favourite player and IPL franchise. Contrary to all expectations, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar isn’t his favourite player. In fact, Dhanawade is in awe of Rohit Sharma’s art of elegant playing and the way he builds his game. In the same line, he picked Mumbai Indians as his favourite franchise which he would like to play for.

There is so much one can learn from Rohit Sharma reckoned Dhanawade

“Rohit Sharma any day. I love the way he builds his innings. He takes his time initially but once he gets his eye in, he is unstoppable. There is so much one can learn from him. I have not met him as yet but would love to.

“Mumbai Indians obviously! I am from this place and I would surely love to be a part of that star-studded unit,” he concluded.
