Veteran batsman Ian Bell might make a come back into the England squad, considering his experience in the sub-continent conditions and the out of sorts, England middle-order add value to the cause.

The 34-year old was dropped from the squad following the 2-0 defeat against Pakistan at the United Arab Emirates in November last year. England head coach, Trevor Bayliss met Bell at Edgbaston last week on the final day of Warwickshire’s defeat by Surrey, in order to understand whether he still hold Test return ambitions.

England middle-order batsmen, James Vince is expected to be dropped from the squad following a chastening series against Pakistan, where he managed to score just 158 runs from 7 innings. He failed to score even a single score of 50 or more in the series.

Vince was slammed by former England captain and BBC commentator Geoffrey Boycott. “Vince’s shot was unbelievable,” Boycott told BBC. “He’s playing for his career because he’s had these tiny cameos of 20 and 30 (and) we’re all saying ‘can’t you bat any longer?’. And what does he do?

” … It was the most stupidest shot you could imagine. For me, that’s the end of his Test match career. You can’t carry on like that,” said Boycott.

Bell was dropped from the squad after a run of 21 Test innings without a century, which seemed him to have lost his hunger for runs after the 11 years long international career. As soon as he took over the captaincy of the Warwickshire side earlier this year, the talk of a possible return to national colors roped high.

England is subjected to tour Bangladesh and India later this year, as the Bangladesh tour starts from October 7 and from November 9, the first Test against India will begin.
