Nepal’s campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Final begins on Tuesday when they face Qatar in the 3rd match of the tournament. Nepal is considered as favourites in this 5-team tournament and is expected to make it to the T20 World Cup Qualifiers. The Paras Khadka-led team have beaten Malaysia in the 2-match T20I series a few days ago and also defeated UAE in a 3-match T20I series at the start of the year.

On the other hand, Qatar began their tournament with a big defeat against the hosts Singapore. The home team made its T20I debut in this game and posted a big score of 186/7 in the tournament opener. Pacer Iqbal Hussain took 4/33 but couldn’t stop the opponent from scoring big. In reply, Qatar finished with 153/9 as they missed fire-power in the second half. Four batters crossed 25 but none of them converted those starts.

Nepal’s Gyanendra Malla hasn’t been performing well for a while now. He could be dropped for a youngster given his form and the importance of the tournament. Even if Nepal selects him, it is better to refrain from picking him.
