The latest ICC ODI batter’s rankings are out, and it’s the Indian stunners Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who are shining at the top two slots. The rankings got updated after the completion of recently-concluded three-match series between Australia and England. The Indian skipper has sealed the ultimate number one position with 871 points while the brilliant Sharma is standing tall at the second spot, with 855 points in his bag.

Also, England opener Jonny Bairstow and Australian stars Glenn Maxwell, along with Alex Carey, have levelled up in their positions. All the above three have amazing centuries to their credit in the finale of the three-match series held at Old Trafford on Wednesday, September 16. Having amassed a total of 196 runs in the series, Bairstow has marked his return in the Top 10 of this list.

Bairstow 112 of 126-balls looked dominant enough on the final matchday until the heroics of Maxwell and Carey made fans stunned. Both the Australians stitched a robust partnership of 212 for the fifth wicket, which led the visitors to steal the match by three wickets and took the series 2-1 in their favour. Maxwell and Carey stand next to each other in the same list led by Indian stars.

Alex Carey and Marnus Labuschange achieve their career-best

Maxwell took up the stairs to reach five places up in the list to stand at 26th position jointly with Ireland’s Paul Stirling. On the other hand, Carey stands next to him, who made a jump of 11-positions to seal the 28th position, his career-best apparently. Others who moved up in this list are Marnus Labuschagne and Sam Billings of England.

Labuschagne moved up the ladder by 20 places to sit at 63rd position, his career-best, and Billings, who scored 118 in the first match, has entered the Top 100 club for the first time in his life. He stands behind Bairstow and Maxwell. England all-rounder Chris Woakes is among the bowlers who have made a significant rise in his rankings by sitting at fourth position, his career-best after scalping six wickets in the series.

The selected Australian and England stars will board the flight to UAE for being part of their squad for IPL 2020 commencing in next two days.
