ICC salutes Joginder Sharma and quotes him as ‘Real world hero’ for his fight against Coronavirus
Former World Cup winner is working as Deputy Superintendent of Haryana police.

Joginder Sharma, the former Indian bowler, who emerged as the hero for the Men in Blue in the inaugural edition of T20 World Cup. He did a lot in his short career that can never be forgotten by an Indian fan. And, now he is making his name as one of the most responsible police officers in the country, Recently, ICC shared a post in which the former player can be spotted working amid global health crises.
The 36-year-old etched his name in the history of cricket in his short career. He bowled the final over against Pakistan in 2007 T20 World Cup and helped Team India in becoming the World Champions. He bowled the penultimate delivery of his crucial over outside off stump. And, Misbah ul Haq ended up playing a mistimed school due to which he didn’t get his elevation right, giving a regular catch to Sreesanth. He certainly turned the tables for Team India when they were on the verge of losing the finals.
ICC impressed with the dedication of Joginder Sharma
After returning from the World Cup, he was poured with bucketloads of wishes from the fans and cricketing fraternity for his brilliance. Even Haryana government awarded him with a hefty amount as a token of respect for his contribution to India’s victory in the mega-event. But, a horrific car accident in back in 2011 shortened Sharma’s career, who tried his best to make his way back into Team India but failed in his attempts.
He is currently working as the Deputy Superintendent of police in Haryana. Joginder Sharma is actively helping India in its fight against coronavirus pandemic. Even, International cricket council gave applauds to his work. The apex cricket council took to their Twitter handle and shared a collage of Joginder Sharma. ICC gave a heartwarming caption to their post that read, “2007: #T20WorldCup hero 2020: Real-world hero.
