Match Details:

The 2nd Semi-Final of the 2019 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier between Thailand Women and Papua New Guinea (PNG) Women will be hosted by the Forthill in Dundee.

The match starts at 2:00 PM local time (1:00 PM GMT) (6:30 PM IST).

This game will be live on T20 World Cup Facebook page and ICC’s YouTube channel.

Preview:

The semi-final between Thailand Women and Papua New Guinea Women will probably the most important match of the tournament. In fact, it is more crucial than that of the other semi-final, between Bangladesh and Ireland. The reason for it being the winner of Thailand and PNG game will make it to the Women’s T20 World Cup for the first time ever. PNG sort of stunned the hosts Scotland to reach here.

Thailand, who holds the record for the longest winning streak in the history of T20I cricket, edged past Ireland by two runs in the last group match. Had the Irish team got better of Thailand in that game, they could have avoided facing Bangladesh. Both Ireland and Bangladesh occupied the No.9 and No.10 positions in the previous three editions of the Women’s T20 World Cup which would change in 2020.

Weather Condition/Report:

The weather forecast for the Forthill in Dundee for Thursday looks the best across all match days thus far. However, there could be little showers and drizzles from 5 PM local time. This match will most probably get finished by that time.

Pitch Condition/Report:

If you have got a good number of slow bowling options and a total over 100 batting first, you should be winning 8/10 times at the Forthill. For this semi-final, an already used pitch will be in usage and that could make things tougher for the chasing team.
