The much-awaited battle between India and Pakistan of the World Cup 2019 will be hosted by the Manchester’s Old Trafford on Sunday. India is one of the two sides that have not lost a game yet in this World Cup. They got better of South Africa and Australia in their first two games while the match against New Zealand got washed out. Pakistan, on the other hand, are in need of a win having won only one in their first four matches and were forced to share points with Sri Lanka due to the match got abandoned.

0 – Pakistan has lost all the six matches they played against India in the World Cup. Besides India, Pakistan (7 vs Sri Lanka) and Windies (6 vs Zimbabwe) have the 100 per cent win record against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe respectively. India and Pakistan faced off once in a World Cup match in England at Old Trafford during the 1999 CWC which India won by 47 runs.


4 – Rohit Sharma has scored 50+ runs in each of his last four ODI innings — 57, 122*, 56, 95. This is the first time Rohit has scored four consecutive fifty-plus in his ODI career.


6 – Rohit Sharma has six fifty-plus in ODI tournaments against Pakistan having scored an unbeaten century and five fifties. Rohit amassed 534 runs in 13 innings at an average of 47.63 against Pakistan in ODI tournaments.

Among Indians, only Sachin Tendulkar (12 50+ in 31 inns) and Sourav Ganguly (7 50+ in 22 inns) have more fifty-plus scores in ODI tournaments against Pakistan than Rohit.


7.34 – Wahab Riaz has an economy rate of 7.34 in the ODI cricket against India; the 2nd worst for any player against an opponent in ODIs. (Min: 45 overs bowled) Wayne Parnell has an ODI economy of 7.4 also against India. In six ODIs over India, Wahab claimed nine wickets including a 5-fer in the 2011 CWC.


19Mohammad Amir has bagged 19 wickets in the 19 innings he bowled in his last 20 ODI matches. Out of those, he claimed 15 wickets across five innings in England at an average of 12.8 but only four wickets at 92.6 in 14 innings outside England.


85.4Virat Kohli has a batting average of seven Indian ODI victories against Pakistan as he scored 427 runs with 2 centuries and a fifty in those. However, in five ODI defeats against the arch-rivals, Kohli aggregated only 32 runs at an average of 6.4 with four single-digit scores.


1782 – Shoaib Malik has scored 1782 runs from 41 ODIs against India; the most by him against any team in this format. He has four centuries and 11 fifties against India; all the most against any side. Malik’s ODI batting average of 48.16 is also the best for him against any team.

However, Malik has scored only one fifty in the nine innings since 2010. The all-rounder had as many as 14 fifty-plus scores from 32 ODI innings till 2009 against the neighbour nation.


10943 – Virat Kohli has scored 10943 runs across 221 innings in the ODI format. He needs 57 runs in the next 54 innings to break Sachin Tendulkar’s (276 inns) record for being the fastest to 11000 ODI runs.
