High-flying Bangladesh face a litmus test when they lock horns with defending champions Australia at Trent Bridge, Nottingham in the 26th match of World Cup 2019. Bangladesh are brimming with confidence at the moment after beating West Indies in their last game. The Tigers are currently fifth in the points table with 2 wins and as many losses while one match was washed out. The standing in the points table does not justify their performance in the World Cup as they have looked one of the most balanced sides in the tournament so far.

Australia, on the other hand, are third with 4 wins and one loss from five games. The reigning champions have not looked very fluent on the field but have somehow managed to cross the finishing line more often than not. Perhaps their vast experience is helping them get over the line and they will rely on that again when they take on Bangladesh. Current form and history suggest that Australia will be the favourites but they should guard against complacency.

Bangladesh come into this game on the back of a historic win over West Indies. Their talisman Shakib Al Hasan scored his second century of the tournament as Bangladesh pulled off the second highest chase in World Cup history with a dominant seven-wicket win over West Indies. Set 322 for victory, the Asian team chased down the total inside 42 overs losing only three wickets.

Australia, on the other hand, beat Sri Lanka in their last game, after posting 334 for 7, the Aussies bowled out the Islanders for 247. There were some moments of concern for the Men in Yellow but they struck at regular intervals with the ball to make things tough for Sri Lanka.

How’s the weather expected to be:

The weather could play spoilsport in yet another match of this World Cup. According to AccuWeather, the chances of rainfall will be around 23 per cent at the start of the game. However, as the game progresses the chances of rainfall will only increase. Around an hour after the scheduled start, the chances of rainfall will be around 51 per cent and will hover around 50 per cent for the next few hours. As far as the temperature is concerned, it will be hovering between 15-17 degree Celsius.
