The 32nd match of the ongoing World Cup 2019 will see a mouth-watering clash between hosts England and defending champions Australia. The oldest rivals of the game will renew their rivalry in ODIs at the iconic Lord’s. The game will be one between the most successful team in the history of the World Cup and the team which is the most successful in the last year or so.

Australia are currently second in the points table with 10 points from five games. A win in the upcoming game will make them the first team to enter the semifinal. England, on the other hand, are at fourth place with 8 points from 6 games. A win in this game will keep them on track for the semifinals while a loss will further jeopardise their chances. After this game, the hosts will face India and table-toppers New Zealand and will thus be trying their best to win against the reigning champions.

England come into this game on the back of a shocking defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka. Not many would have predicted a loss for them when they restricted the Islanders to a modest 232 for 9. For a team which has already scored more than 380 runs in a match twice in the tournament, chasing 232 was nothing less than a cakewalk. However, England capitulated spectacularly and were all out for 212 to suffer their second loss of the competition.

On the other hand, Australia beat Bangladesh by 48 runs in their last outing. After piling up a mammoth total of 381, Aaron Finch & Co. restricted Bangladesh to 333 for 8. Going by the current form, Australia will be the favourites to win the game. However, they will be well aware of the threat possessed by England and will have to bring their best game to get the better of the hosts.

How’s the weather expected to be:

The much-awaited game could be spoiled by rain. According to AccuWeather, the weather forecast for today is not promising at all. The chances of rainfall will be around 40 percent at the start of the match. With the passage of time, the chances will increase and will hover in the higher 40s. There will be a cloud coverage of around 70 percent for the entire day while the humidity will be in the 70s for the most part of the game.
