Two different kinds of emotions were on display the last time when New Zealand faced Australia. It was in the final of the 2015 World Cup. After performing so well right through the tournament, the Kiwis succumbed to the pressure of the final and ended putting a very low total. Australia didn’t break a sweat and lifted the trophy yet again.
This battle will revive yet again in the league stages of the current edition of the tournament. New Zealand will look to seek their revenge and also seal a semi-final berth. On the other hand, Australia will want to keep their dominance going. Both these sides have got some great performers and it could get quite tricky while picking your Dream11 Fantasy team. Thus, the statistics can be your friends and will help to make better choices.
Here we bring to you the Dream11 Fantasy team based on the stats of the players:
Wicketkeepers
There are three options available in the wicket-keeper’s category. While Tom Blundell is yet to make his ODI debut, Tom Latham has had a torrid time in the tournament. That leaves you with the option of Alex Carey only who has mustered 128 runs in the last five outings. He has been doing a good job for Australia batting down the order and is safe behind the stumps.
Batsmen
The batsmen from both these teams have been in great form and it is quite amazing that three players have scored more than 400 runs in the last five ODIs that they played. While Aaron Finch leads the way with 424 runs, Kane Williamson and David Warner are next with 414 and 408 runs respectively. All three of them are quite bankable and anyone can be the multiplier in your team. On this instance, we decided to go ahead with David Warner as the captain.
All Rounders
James Neesham played a glorious knock in the last game and is a great asset to have with the ball as well. Since he contributes in all the three departments of the game, he can be the vice-captain of your side. Colin de Grandhomme is another great pick to have in your team. Mitchell Santner, here, is an exception but takes just 8 credits. Picking him balances out some of the other picks.
Bowlers
With 13 wickets in the last five games, Mitchell Starc leads the bowling charts. Lockie Ferguson is right up there with 12 scalps while Jason Behrendorff has got 10. Trent Boult picked up 8 wickets and will definitely be in the playing eleven. Thus, you can go ahead with these four bowlers in your Dream11 Fantasy team.
