I’d love to see 'MC Sher' Siddhant Chaturvedi in my biopic: Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj was the Man of the Series of the 2011 World Cup that India won while he also has the record of hitting six sixes in an over during the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup.

Biopics are frequent in India’s sporting industry in recent times. From boxing to badminton to cricket, Bollywood’s film-makers have picked personalities time and again to make biopics and the latest to be added to the group could be former India batsman Yuvraj Singh.
Biopics are always financially rewarding and although nothing has been finalised yet, a creative venture on Yuvraj’s exciting cricketing career could see Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead role. The former international cricketer himself thinks it would be a good choice.
In the recent history of biopics, Priyanka Chopra played the role of pugilist Mary Kom while Sushant Singh Rajput played the character of MS Dhoni. Farhan Akhtar chipped in as legendary athlete Milkha Singh while Taapsee Pannu will don the hat of Mithali Raj in an upcoming biopic on the ace India batswoman.
Besides, Parineeti Chopra will play the character of shuttler Saina Nehwal while Ranveer Singh will be portraying Kapil Dev in a period film on India’s World Cup win in 1983.
Siddhant Chaturvedi is Yuvraj Singh’s own preference
No official announcement has yet been made on Yuvraj Singh’s biopic and according to a report by Latestly, the 38-year-old was asked who he thinks can portray him the best on-screen and he came up with the name of Siddhant, who impressed in his Bollywood debut film ‘Gully Boy’.
“Probably, I’d play myself — that would be a bit desperate… (chuckles) hai, na? See, that’s the director’s job to decide. If it’s going to be a Bollywood film, then Siddhant Chaturvedi — the guy who played MC Sher in ‘Gully Boy’ is a good option; I’d love to see him in the film,” he remarked.
Chaturvedi might not be too bad a choice since the 26-year-old has already played the role of a cricketer in Amazon Prime’s ‘Inside Edge’ and hence it is not entirely an uncharted territory for him. Chaturvedi is currently busy filming his second film ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ with Rani Mukherji, Sair Ali Khan and others. He also has other projects in hand like one with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday and another with Katrina Kaif. There is no great space for a biopic at least for now.
However, a biopic on Yuvraj will be enticing for any actor. The left-arm cricketer’s career has been one illustrious one not only because of his exploits with the bat and ball but also his heroic comeback off the field since he was diagnosed with cancer once.
Yuvraj was the Man of the Series of the 2011 World Cup that India won while he also has the record of hitting six sixes in an over during the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007. Yuvraj bid adieu to international cricket in June last year and now plays in franchise cricket.
