If Steve Smith reacts well to Lalit Yadav’s inclusion in dressing room, youngsters will get a great message: Carlos Brathwaite

Rajasthan Royals are playing against Delhi Capitals in match no. 26 of the Indian Premier League in the UAE. Ahead of the game, experts came up to talk about the playing combinations of the team and opened up on several aspects. In the same light, Deep Dasgupta opened up on Delhi player Lalit Yadav who made his place in the team today.

Dasgupta said they know that Yadav is a no.5 or 6 batter. In fact, he has performed fairly for the team, and being an all-rounder, his chances get more with the team. Also, he is a local Delhi man, so that makes a lot of difference for him. In the same light, West Indies cricketer Carlos Brathwaite also opened up.

Delhi’s new recruit Steve Smith missed his chance with DC in the match against RR and Braithwaite opened up on that matter. He added that it is necessary to understand team balance and it is not always that a like for like replacement can happen. If Smith reacts well to Yadav’s inclusion, it will be a great message for youngsters.

The team combination has to be taken into consideration and we had a young Indian guy there so if Smith can react well in the dressing room about Lalit’s inclusion in the team, it will be a great message for all the youngsters,” said Brathwaite in a video by ESPNcricinfo.

Talking about the game, RR chose to bowl first after winning the toss where they restricted Capitals on just 154 runs. The top order of Delhi failed to bring some good tone to their game. However, Shreyas Iyer’s 43 off 32 led them to cross the 150-run mark. Mustafizur Rahman and Chetan Sakariya picked two wickets each from Rajasthan’s bowling artillery wherein the former maintained an excellent economy.

It remains to be seen if RR can chase the total easily and levels up in the points table.
