Former Pakistan cricket team captain and current president of the country Imran Khan arrived in Kabul on November 19, Thursday for his maiden trip to Afghanistan. Imran visited the country on the invitation of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.

Imran is the former captain of Pakistan’s national cricket team and transformed a bunch of talented cricketers into world-beaters. The man was responsible for changing the shape of Pakistan cricket and giving them the title of world champions with his strategic brain and leadership qualities.

In the 1992 World Cup, Pakistan, under the leadership of Imran Khan, scripted a fairy tale comeback to win their maiden world title. He was probably the only player in the team who had a firm belief that they would win the tournament that year.

Thus, during his visit to the Afghan country, Imran had a meeting with the Afghanistan cricket team. The Afghan cricket team presented him a signed bat as stated by the official Twitter handle of Pakistan’s Prime Minister office.

Revealing this sweet gesture from the Afghanistan team, the PM’s office tweeted, “Afghanistan National Cricket Team presents a signed bat to Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI. President @ashrafghani is also present. #PeaceAmbassadorPMIK #PMIKinKabul.”

Imran Khan’s meet with Ashraf Ghani

In the presidential palace, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had a meeting with Imran Khan where the leader of two nations discussed the matters of mutual interest and expressed their desire of further improving the relations between the two nations.

In the press conference, Pakistan’s Prime Minister assured Afghanistan that the government of Pakistan will try their best to establish peace in Afghanistan and help the citizens of the country as they have been suffering for a long time.

“The people and government of Pakistan have only one concern, and that is to establish peace in Afghanistan because the people of the country have suffered for four decades.” Imran Khan said as quoted by The News.

PM Imran Khan assured the Afghanistan government that Pakistan is ready to help the country in every possible way to attain peace. “We will be helping you more than your expectations,” he added.
