Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has had a great game against New Zealand thus far in the first Test at Kanpur. First, he scored a 42 not out with the bat and then came back to claim a five-wicket haul with the ball. The second day wasn’t the most productive but he made a superb comeback to stun the Kiwis. Following the day’s play Jadeja walked in as the team representative for the interaction with the press.
When asked about how difficult was it for the incoming batsmen to tackle the spinners given that the surface also had developed some rough patches because of the footmarks Jadeja said, “When a new batsman walks in on a turning track, looking at the footmarks the batsman might get scared because of the number of footmarks and not able to defend confidently.”
If you know Hindi you would understand what he actually meant to say. He was at the verge of saying what could have been termed an indecent comment but he censored it himself and took a pause, reframed what he wanted to say in a toned down manner and continued his answer. But most of the Indian journalists present in the room along with Jadeja were all laughing as they knew what he was about to say.
The video of his answer was posted on multiple platforms by different people and Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also saw the video and he couldn’t hold himself. Bhajji who would have also laughed out loud at the hilarious incident quoted one of the videos and asked the left-arm spinner to complete his sentence.
Bhajji posted – ‘Complete the sentence jaddu’
