Team India continued their domination over the visiting Australian side in the third ODI at Indore. The win in the Indore ODI sealed the series for the hosts as they now have an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the 5-match ODI series. Now, the action moves to Bengaluru for the fourth match of the series. For the Indian team, the match will serve as the ideal ground to test their bench strength.

On the other hand, the match holds a greater significance for the Australian side. Australia will be playing for pride when they take the field at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Their run in the away matches in the recent times has been dismal. They have not won a single match in their last 13 away fixtures in ODI cricket.

They lost 11 of them and two of them were washed out affairs. Now, the threat of another washout looms large over this particular game as well. The weather gods have not been very friendly in the city of Bengaluru in the last few days. It rained heavily in the city on Tuesday night. Also, the rain started pouring down heavily on the Wednesday evening.

Good drainage at Chinnaswamy

However, one thing that works in the favor of the city’s iconic ground is the subair drainage system that they have placed at the venue. The breakthrough innovation is stated to absorb all the water on the ground in a span of just 5 minutes and gets the ground ready for playing again. But for that to happen, the rain will have to subside.

The ground had shown its capability to clear out bulk rain water during the Qualifiers in the IPL this year. The cloud cover has been constant in the city but the rain has been unpredictable. The teams and the cricket fans would hope that the rain stays away from the ground on the match day on Thursday.
