India vs Australia 2023 Schedule

The three-match ODI series between India (IND) and Australia (AUS) will begin on September 22 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Meanwhile, the second and third ODI which will be contested on 24 and 27 will be played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore and the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, respectively. Meanwhile, all the matches are slated to begin at 1:30 pm IST.

The series will be India and Australia’s last assignment ahead of the much-anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 which is scheduled to be contested in India from October 5 to November 19. In the ICC global event, India and Australia will lock horns in their campaign opener on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

India will be highly motivated coming to the series having won the Asia Cup for the eighth time after beating Sri Lanka in the final in Colombo. Meanwhile, Australia are coming off a terrific 3-2 defeat against South Africa in a five-match away ODI series.

KL Rahul will captain Team India in the first two games with regular skipper Rohit Sharma being rested. Apart from Rohit, several senior players such as Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav have been rested for the first two ODIs as well.  Meanwhile, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has made a return to the ODI team having last played the 50-over format in January 2022.

Australia Captain Pat Cummins returned to the ODI squad after recovering from an injury. Ace batter Steve Smith who got injured during the Ashes 2023 will be eager to play a pivotal role for his side in the upcoming series. Mitchell Starc, who missed the South Africa tour has also returned to the squad. Meanwhile, Glenn Maxwell, who injured himself after a training session during the T20I series against South Africa has also made a comeback.
