Wriddhiman Saha scored a half-century for India in the second innings of the 1st Test against NZ

Wriddhiman Saha played a crucial knock for the Indian side in the second innings against the Kiwis. The right-handed batter scored 61* off 126 deliveries for his side and played a key role in helping Ajinkya Rahane and his men set a target of 284 for the Black Caps.

Shreyas Iyer has been the catalyst of the Indian side with the bat in the 1st Test. In both innings, Iyer has bailed the Indian side out of trouble. While the debutant scored a scintillating century in the first innings, the 26-year-old followed that up by scoring a timely 65 in the second essay as well.

The New Zealand scorecard currently reads 42/1 after 18 overs. Tom Latham and William Somerville are occupying the crease. While Latham is batting on 16 having consumed 49 deliveries, Somerville has scored a 53-ball 22. Ravichandran Ashwin has picked up the only wicket to fall for the visitors. The Kiwis still need 242 runs for victory in the 1st Test.
