India are currently dominating the proceedings on the second day of the ongoing Test match against Sri Lanka. While all the eyes were on Virat Kohli who is playing his 100th Test, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja have impressed with their batting in the first innings after opting to bat first. The duo joined hands when India were in a spot of bother at 228/5.

But since then, Pant smashed an enterprising 96 while Ravindra Jadeja has managed to notch up his second Test century. He got to the three-figure mark in the first session and then unfurled his famous sword celebration with the bat. The dressing room was on its feet to applaud the arguably one of the best all-rounders currently in Test cricket.

Mohammed Siraj, part of India’s playing XI for Mohali Test, was also delighted for Ravindra Jadeja and hilariously imitated the latter’s sword celebration standing at the boundary and with a water bottle in his hand.

Spinners key for India

Meanwhile, India are likely to declare their first innings after crossing the 500-run mark. With the pitch looking good to bat on, the bowlers will play a crucial role for the hosts. As for Mohammed Siraj, the man has risen very quickly since the Australia tour in 2020-21 season. His consistent performances in the longest format has led to the management considering him ahead of the veteran Ishant Sharma as well.

As for Ravindra Jadeja, he has improved his batting considerably over the last couple of years. He was out of action for quite some time due to injury concerns but has done well since making a comeback for the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Jadeja will be crucial for India with the ball as the pitch is expected to deteriorate as the game progresses.
