A lot has been said about all not being well between two superstars of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. However, the duo time and again have quashed all the rumours stating that they love playing with each other. Moreover, there have been various instances that have proved that there is no rift whatsoever between them. One such instance was on show during the Mohali Test between India and Sri Lanka on Saturday (March 5).
Virat Kohli is playing his landmark 100th Test currently and the occasion has been made memorable by the BCCI. He was felicitated by head coach Rahul Dravid before the start of the match while congratulatory messages flooded in for him for the same. However, India’s new all-format skipper Rohit Sharma planned to make it more memorable on the second day for his predecessor.
Before the start of Sri Lanka’s batting innings, Virat Kohli was as usual one of the first players to step on the field. This is when Rohit asked him to wait outside the field of play for some time before the players stood to give their former skipper a special guard of honour. Even Rishabh Pant could be seen asking Virat to wait for some time. Moreover, Virat Kohli also thanked Rohit for the special gesture later.

Virat Kohli scored 45 runs in his milestone Test match
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s century drought didn’t end even in his milestone Test. He came out to bat after Mayank Agarwal got out and looked in serene touch playing a few brilliant drives. He also stitched a valuable stand of 90 runs with Hanuma Vihari before getting out to Lasith Embudeniya on 45.
As for the Test match, India posted a massive total of 574/8 in their first innings before declaring. It is highly unlikely that they will bat again in the game unless Sri Lanka put on a commendable effort with the bat and avoid follow on.
