South Africa and India have locked horns with each other for the second Test at the Wanderers. The visitors have a splendid opportunity to win the Test and register their maiden Test series victory in the nation. According to former Australia cricketer Brad Hogg, India can be termed as one of the great teams if they dominate the proceedings against the Proteas.

It is to be noted that India started their impressive run in the red-ball format with a 63-run win against South Africa in Johannesburg during their last tour. The Virat Kohli-led side secured a historic victory in the Centurion Test to take a 1-0 lead in the current series. Hogg thus reckoned that if India wins the Test series in South Africa then they will definitely be the best team in the world at the moment.

“India just won in South Africa in the Boxing Day Test, if India wins one out of the remaining two Test matches, they are definitely the best team in the world at the moment. India is going to be labeled as one of the great teams that have been on Earth. Like Australia in the 2000s and West Indies in the late 70s and early 80s,” Hogg said on his YouTube channel.

India defeated Australia twice at their home and then also took a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series against England before the series was paused owing to the covid outbreak in the Indian camp. Hogg thus highlighted the Virat Kohli-led side’s performances in England and heaped praises on the team.

“India is the best team because they are dominating when they travel. They annihilated England on English soil. They should have had that series against England done and dusted being 3-1 up. England had no answers for them. England was too worried about The Hundred competition, getting the big stars to play there.

Well, we’re in different times, there’s a pandemic, you have to adjust and be hospitable to the visitors. If that Test match does not get rescheduled, I don’t think anyone should worry about it because it was completely England’s fault,” Hogg said.
