India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Deepak Chahar is set to get married on June 1, to his long-time girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj. The right-arm pacer had proposed Jaya during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match last year. Deepak’s fiancée, Jaya hails from Delhi and works in a corporate firm.

It was later revealed by Deepak Chahar’s father- Lokendra Singh Chahar that Deepak wanted to propose to her girlfriend for quite some time but had planned to do so during the playoffs stage of IPL 2021. However, on the advice of CSK skipper MS Dhoni, he planned out the thing during the last league match of CSK against the Punjab Kings.

Chahar was bought back by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a whopping price of INR 14 crore during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction, and he has played a pivotal role throughout his journey with the franchise. However, the right-arm pacer was ruled out for the entire tournament this year after sustaining a back injury that he sustained at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bangalore.

Coming back to his marriage, the picture of the invitation card of Deepak Chahar tying the knot with Jaya Bhardwaj has gone viral on social media.

Chahar is likely to remain out of action for the next two months

After sustaining a back injury, the right-arm pacer is likely to stay out of action for the upcoming two months. However, Deepak Chahar had previously said that he will come back stronger. With the T20 World Cup scheduled to happen in October-November this year, Chahar is likely to try his best to recover at the soonest and clear all fitness tests to be a part of the squad and play for the national side.

Talking about his numbers in international cricket, Chahar has played 20 T20Is and seven ODIs for India and scalped 26 and 10 wickets respectively. In IPL, the 29-year-old has played 63 matches and scalped a total of 59 wickets at an average of 29.19. He has also scalped two four-wicket hauls in the toughest franchise league in the world. With the bat, he has scored 79 runs with his highest being 39 runs.
