Team India played a lot of Test matches during their grand home season in 2015-16. But they will host only Windies for a two-match series in whites in 2018 and will be their only assignment at home in Tests before 2019 World Cup. Virat Kohli led side will be mostly on road in 2018 and 2019 and are currently in the middle of the gruelling tour to South Africa. However, they will also not play any Tests on their tour to New Zealand next year in January.

India hosted the teams likes England, New Zealand, Australia, Bangladesh during their grand home season and won all the series against them. They were unbeatable in home conditions and they proved it once again with some magnificent performances. Amidst all the overseas tours, Team India will host Windies in October this year for 2 Tests and the tour will include a handful of limited-overs fixtures ahead of the World Cup in England.

BCCI concentrating on World Cup

The Men in Blue will tour Australia by the end of this year for four Tests, 3 ODIs and as many T20 Internationals after which they will travel New Zealand for 5-match series of ODIs and T20Is. Interestingly, there won’t be any Test series during their tour as they had played a couple of them during their last visit to the country in 2014. However, they will also host Australia who will travel to play the limited-overs series.

“There is a lot of risk of losing money in a five-day game starting at 3 am India time (in New Zealand). Anyway, it will be a World Cup year. By the time India travel to New Zealand, India will be playing just white-ball cricket after the Tests in Australia get over. India will host Australia after they come back from New Zealand and will travel to Zimbabwe for three T20Is before the 2019 IPL,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by Times of India.
