An all-round display by the Indians at Bangalore handed the T20I series for the hosts over England with a 2-1 lead despite the visitors winning tosses in all the 3 matches. India posted a total of 202/6 after being put into bat again with Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni scoring fifties. Later England were going well with wickets in hand but a Yuzvendra Chahal’s burst triggered a collapse from 119/2 to 127/10. Here we look at all the stats and records registered during the game.

1 – Yuzvendra Chahal became the first Indian to take a 5-wicket haul in T20Is. He, in fact, took a 6-wicket haul in this game. Previous best figures by an Indian in T20Is was 4/8 by Ravi Ashwin last year vs Sri Lanka.

2 – This is the 2nd instance of England losing the series in all the 3 formats in a single away tour. They lost all the 3 formats in 2013/14 season in Australia.

3 – Number of Indians including Chahal who have taken a 6-wicket haul in Twenty20 cricket. Deepak Punia and Swapnil Singh have taken 6 wickets in a Syed Mushtaq Ali game in space of two days in 2014/15 season.

6/25 – Yuzvendra Chahal’s 6/25 is the 3rd best bowling figures in T20I cricket. The top two are in Ajantha Mendis’ name. Mendis and Chahal are the only players to take a 6-fer in this format.

8 – Runs added by England for losing their last 8 wickets, the worst 8-wicket collapse for any team in T20Is. Bangladesh and Zimbabwe lost their 8 wickets in a span of 16 runs against Pakistan and Zimbabwe in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

19y 120d – Age at which Rishabh Pant made his T20I debut, the youngest Indian to do so. Previous youngest was Ishant Sharma at 19 years and 152 days against Australia in 2008 also on February 1st.

56 – Runs scored by MS Dhoni in this game, his highest individual score in T20Is. The previous highest was 48* vs Australia at Sydney in 2012 also on February 1st.

75 – India’s win margin of 75 runs in this game is their 2nd highest win in terms of runs in T20Is. Highest is 90 runs also vs England in 2012.

202/6 – India’s total of 202 in this game is their joint 4th highest total in T20Is and their first ever 200+ total at home batting first.

252 – Sixes hit by Suresh Raina in Twenty20s, the 2nd most by an Indian. He became the 9th player overall and 2nd from India after Rohit Sharma to hit 250 sixes in T20Is.

1919 – Runs scored by Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni as a pair in Twenty20 cricket, the 4th most by any pair in this format. Virat Kohli-Chris Gayle (2760), Virat Kohli-AB de Villiers (2169) and Virender Sehwag-Gautam Gambhir (2097) have over 2000 runs as a pair in Twenty20 cricket.

2010 – Last time before Rishabh Pant, an Indian teenager featured in an International match was Jayadev Unadkat in his only Test match against South Africa in 2010.

2010 – Last time Suresh Raina scored a fifty in T20Is before this game was in 2010 vs Zimbabwe. Since then he played 37 innings without a fifty in T20Is.

5045 – Runs scored by MS Dhoni in Twenty20 cricket, he became the 6th Indian to complete 5000 runs in this format. Other 5 players are Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir.
