India will be locking horns against Australia in the first of the two-match T20I series in Vizag. This will be the start of their short international home season after being on the road for almost the whole of 2018. The T20Is will be followed by the five One-Day Internationals which will also be the team’s last assignment ahead of the World Cup and Virat Kohli is leaving any stone unturned in the preparations.
The Indian captain was rested midway through the New Zealand tour as India pocketed the ODI series by winning the first three matches itself. He also missed the three T20Is which followed and went on a vacation with his wife Anushka Sharma during the rare free time away from the game.
However, the refreshed Kohli will be even more dangerous now as Australia will look to stop him from piling on the runs in the upcoming seven matches across the two shorter formats of the game.

Ahead of the series opener, Virat Kohli was seen belting the bowlers in the nets with utter disdain. He stepped out of the crease for every possible delivery and when at the crease, the skipper made sure that he blunted the leather brutally. The ball hitting the middle of his bat is certainly a good sign for Team India and Kohli’s form will be crucial for the Men in Blue going into the World Cup.

Though the Indian Premier League (IPL) follows this series, Virat Kohli has warned his teammates to be in the One-Day mould of things ahead of the World Cup. Kohli himself stressed the fact he will not alter his technique for the IPL and bat the same way he does in the 50-over format. He also believed that the players should take responsibility for their own fitness and make sure that they don’t hurt the team’s chances in the World Cup.
