The Wives and Girlfriends (WAGs) of the Indian cricketers seem to be enjoying the South African tour while the visitors had a tough day at the office on Day 3 of the second Test match against the Proteas. Skipper Virat Kohli’s unbeaten inning of 153 helped India get close to the home team’s first inning total.

Wives spotted posing with South African wildlife

The second Test is evenly poised with both the teams doing well. However, the South Africans are slightly ahead in the game with a lead of 118 runs at the end of third days play. Things didn’t go well for the Indian team as their batsmen sparing Kohli, stumbled yet again. Keeping all this aside, the Indian WAGs stole the show with pictures from their Safari tour.

The ladies enjoyed a great deal at the Lion and Safari Park. Wives of Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav were seen posing with the wild animals. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan’s better half – Ayesha and the new bride Anushka Sharma were also spotted enjoying the South African culture and wildlife.

Tough day at the office for Team India

Hardik Pandya and Kohli started off quite well for Team India on the third day. Captain Kohli got to his hundred just after the team crossed the 200 mark. However, Hardik’s sloppy running between the wickets resulted in a breakthrough for the Proteas. As soon as the Indian skipper reached his 21st century in Test cricket, Hardik foolishly threw his wicket away. He ran himself out for 15, in the most foolish way ever.

However, Ashwin supported his skipper like always. He added valuable 38 runs to the Indian scoreboard but couldn’t resist the South African seamers for more than 54 balls. Vernon Philander struck by getting Ashwin caught at slips. After he fell, the Indian lower order crumbled like a tissue. Virat stood tall with 153 runs on his name. The lone warrior’s inning included fifteen boundaries.

India fell short of South Africa‘s total by a mere 28 runs. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah’s double strike sent back Aiden Markram and Hashim Amla back to the pavilion for cheap scores. Despite a loose start, AB de Villiers and Dean Elgar added 87 runs before bad light and rain disturbed play.
