India's limiited-overs superstar Suryakumar Yadav was in awe of senior South African batter David Miller's spectacular century in the second T20I at the Barasapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, October 2. The southpaw kept his team in the hunt chasing a mammoth target of 238.

Apart from lauding Miller's valiant knock (47-ball 106*), Suryakumar also went on to explain about how he prepares for a match and what process he undertakes in order to prepare for differtent situations. The Mumbai cricketer scored a quickfire 61 off just 22 deliveries.

You just got to bat as deep as possible: Suryakumar Yadav

“He, Miller batted beautifully and I loved it,” said Suryakumar.

“You just have to be planning really well when you are having the practice sessions about second-guessing the bowlers. When you are batting first, you can’t set a target and you just gotta bat as deep as possible and get as many runs as possible,” he added.

“We were batting first, so it was very clear that I had to keep the tempo that was set by Rahul and Rohit and I just went and enjoyed myself,” he mentioned.

David Miller along with Quinton de Kock staged a brilliant counter-attack after the visitors seemed to be down and out at 47/3. He went on to score his second T20I ton and was involved in an unbeaten 174-run stand for the fourth wicket with de Kock.

The middle-order sensation remained unbeaten on 106 runs off 47 deliveries while de Kock notched up a 48-ball 69* as South Africa went down by 16 runs.

Earlier, Suryakumar played a gem of an innings before an unfortunate run out ended his stay at the crease. Yadav scored a blistering 18-ball 50 and stitched 102 runs along with batting megastar Virat Kohli (49*).

This also happened to be the Mumbai cricketer's third successive half-century in a week and in fact, all three of them have come in winning causes.
