All the statistical highlights from the West Indies’ successful chase in the Trivandrum T20I:

End of West Indies’ losing streak:

7 – West Indies brought an end to their 7-match losing streak in the T20I format against India. Their last T20I win against India came in 2017 during the game played in Kingston. The streak of seven matches is the longest losing streak of West Indies against any side in this format.

West Indies love chasing against India:

3 – Number of times West Indies has chased down a target of 170 and more in the T20I format against India. They are the only 2nd team with three 170+ successful chases against a team in the T20I format. India also chased down 170+ targets on three instances against Sri Lanka in this format. (Full 20-over matches)

4 – Each of West Indies’ top four batsmen crossed 20-run mark during the chase. This is only the 2nd instance of West Indies’ top four scoring 20+ runs in a T20I match. The other such instance also came against India during the 2016 Lauderhill T20I.

India’s toughest year in T20I format:

7 – Number of T20I matches that India has lost in 2019; the most number of T20I matches they lost in a calendar year. They lost as many as six matches in the year 2009 and 2012. India lost five of the seven T20Is this year at home itself.

Simmons’s 3-year wait:

2016 – The last instance of Lendl Simmons scoring a fifty in the T20I format was way back during the 2016 WT20 semi-final in Mumbai also against India. Between these two fifties, Simmons batted in 12 T20I innings and never managed to cross the 20-run mark.

Maiden T20 fifty for Dube:

37 – Shivam Dube’s best score in Twenty20 matches before the 2nd T20I was only 37 runs. With the fifty on Sunday, Dube became only the 2nd Indian to score his maiden T20 fifty in a T20I match.

The other such player with the feat was Robin Uthappa who scored his lone T20I fifty in the 2007 WT20 game against Pakistan. It was only the 3rd T20I match played by India and his fifty was the first by an Indian in this format.

A rare wicket-less match for Indian pacers:

9.3 – The Indian pacers bowled 9.3 overs without taking a wicket in the 2nd T20I. These are the 2nd most number of over that Indian pacers have bowled in a T20I. During the last year’s Sydney T20I against Australia, the India fast bowlers bowled 12 overs and conceded 106 runs without any scalp.
