India registered their 8th consecutive series win over the Windies with a huge triumph in the final game of the five-match ODI series in Trivandrum. The visitors, who elected to bat first, were bundled out for just 104 runs. Ravindra Jadeja ran through the middle and lower-order with his four-wicket haul after the opening burst by the pacers shattered their top order. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli took India home with 211 balls to spare after losing Shikhar Dhawan’s wicket early.

All the major stats and numbers record during the final ODI game of the series:

5 – For the first time in his ODI career that Shikhar Dhawan has failed to score a fifty in a series where he played five innings. In the 2014 five-match ODI series in New Zealand, Dhawan had failed to score a fifty in four innings as he was dropped for the 4th ODI.

7 – Number of wickets Indian left-arm bowlers claimed in this game (Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed). The trio accounted for seven wickets in the previous ODI as well. These are the only two instances where India’s left-arm bowlers claimed seven and more wickets in an ODI since the 2011 WC.

13 – Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli became the 13th pair in ODI history to aggregate 4000 runs together. They became the fastest to 4000 ODI runs as a pair taking only 66 partnerships. They thus broke the record held by Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly who needed 80 stands for 4000 ODI runs as a pair.

16 – Number of sixes Rohit Sharma has hit in this series. These are the joint 3rd most by any Indian in an ODI series/tournament. Rohit himself hit 23 sixes in the seven-match ODI series against Australia in 2013 while MS Dhoni hit 17 sixes in the seven-match series against Sri Lanka in 2005. Sourav Ganguly also hit as many as 16 during the Triangular series in 2001/02 in South Africa.

46.4 – This ODI lasted 46.4 overs which is the shortest 50-overs game involving India at home. (ODIs not reduced) The 2010 Chennai ODI between India and New Zealand lasted 48.1 overs.

104 – Windies’ total of 104 in this game is their lowest ODI total against India. This is also the 3rd lowest ODI total for any team against India in India.

202 – Rohit Sharma now has hit as many as 202 sixes in his ODI career. He became the 7th player and only the 2nd Indian after MS Dhoni to hit 200 ODI sixes. Rohit is the fastest to the mark taking only 187 innings. Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi was the previous quickest as he needed 195 innings.

211 – This win with 211 deliveries to spare is India’s 2nd biggest in terms of balls to spare in ODI cricket. They defeated Kenya in the Bloemfontein ODI with 231 balls to spare.

453 – Virat Kohli’s tally of 453 runs in this series is the 3rd most by any player in a five-match bilateral ODI series. Fakhar Zaman in the series against Zimbabwe this year scored 515 runs while Hamilton Masakadza scored 467 in the 2009 home ODI series against Kenya.
